Seven freight wagons loaded with cereals derailed on Saturday evening, near the village of Chircani in the Cahul district. The Moldova Railway specifies that the train was heading towards Giurgiulesti, and as a result of the incident, no person was injured, reports IPN.
According to CFM, the wagons did not overturn, and the cargo was not affected. The causes of the derailment have not yet been determined.
An intervention and restoration train was dispatched to the scene. Technical teams intervened to put the seven wagons back on the tracks and to resume railway traffic.
