As many as 2,100 cubic meters of firewood will be distributed free to socially underprivileged groups of people, such as war veterans, pensioners older than 70, persons with disabilities and families that host refugees, IPN reports.
The forestry companies managed by the Forestry Agency “Moldsilva” as from today will transport firewood from Romania through the Stânca-Costești and Albița-Leușeni customs posts. The firewood will be taken to mayor’s offices and from there will be distributed to persons included in the program.
The associated costs are covered by the Office of the United Nations Higher Commissioner for Refugees.
