Nine pedestrians suffered injuries and four vehicles were damaged in a road accident in Sofia village of Drochia district last night. According to the police, the accident was caused by a heavily inebriated driver aged 27, IPN reports.
The General Police Inspectorate said the accident was reported by a local woman. At the scene, it was determined that the young man was travelling through the village and, at a certain moment, he struck a vehicle parked legally by the roadside. The car was projected onto another car parked legally. This last car hit two more vehicles.
Nine persons who were in a public place in Sofia were hurt as a result. They were taken to the hospital.
The driver was subject to a breath test and this showed that he was heavily inebriated.
