Prime Minister Nicolae Ciucă announced he was leaving office as part of a government rotation agreement.
Ciucă told a press conference that his resignation came about two weeks later than initially expected because of the general teachers’ strike that had just ended.
“Immediately after this we will have an interim Government, which will operate until the inauguration of a new Government, which hopefully will happen by the end of the week”, Ciucă added.
