Maia Sandu summons parliamentary factions for consultations to appoint a new prime minister

President Maia Sandu convenes, on July 10 and 11, the parliamentary factions for consultations to designate the candidate for the position of Prime Minister. The meetings will take place at the Presidential Office, reports IPN.

According to a statement from the presidential institution, the first consultations are scheduled for Friday at 10:00 AM, when the head of state will meet with representatives of the parliamentary faction of the “Democratia Acasa” Party. At 11:00 AM, representatives of the “Partidul Nostru” Political Party faction are expected, and at 01:00 PM, discussions with the Alternativa faction are scheduled.

On the same day, Maia Sandu will hold consultations with the parliamentary faction of the Communist Party at 02:00 PM and at 03:00 PM a meeting with the faction of the Socialist Party is scheduled.

The series of consultations will continue on Saturday, at 10:00 AM, when the president will meet with the parliamentary faction of the Action and Solidarity Party.

The consultations to identify a candidate for the position of Prime Minister, with the aim of forming a new Government, are taking place in the context of Alexandru Munteanu’s resignation, announced at the end of last week.
