The Ministry of Education and Research wants to exceed last year’s record. It estimates that 16,000 students will be admitted to bachelor’s programs.

The Ministry of Education and Research aims to surpass last year’s record, when the highest number of young people chose to study at universities in the Republic of Moldova in the last eight years was recorded. For this year, education authorities estimate that approximately 16,000 students will be admitted to bachelor’s degree programs, IPN reports.

“At the same time, we want to increase the proportion of those who choose Moldovan universities from 5 out of 10, as it was in 2024, to 6 out of 10. This is a strategic goal for us,” said Minister Dan Perciune at a press conference.

The official mentioned that efforts are being made both to modernize university infrastructure and adapt study programs, as well as to promote higher education institutions.

Dan Perciun highlighted the national campaign “Study in Moldova,” held this year, during which ten regional university fairs were organized. There were also centralized visits by high school graduates to university institutions.

Over the past four years, investments in university modernization have exceeded 500 million lei, the minister pointed out.

This year, admission to bachelor’s degree programs at Moldovan universities will be conducted exclusively online, starting on July 22. The Ministry of Education will provide prospective students with a toll-free hotline – 0800 05005 – where they can ask questions about the new application process.
