The period prior to the mayoral elections that will be held in three localities on October 16 has started. The bodies of the polling places are to be constituted and the electoral lists are to be updated and published. The voters will be informed about this. The electoral period consists of the monitoring of elections and covering of elections by the media, organization of voting and summing up of election results, IPN reports.
Under the legal provisions, the electoral period ends together with the confirmation of the election outcome and the validation of the offices of mayor.
On October 16, new mayoral elections will be held in Sălcuța village of Căușeni district, Ialpujeni village of Cimișlia district and Braniște commune of Râșcani district. Over 6,000 voters are expected to go to the polls.
