Cabinet approves concessions for doctors and young specialists

Doctors, pharmacists and medical staff with secondary education working in public medical and sanitary institutions in towns and villages (communes), except for Chisinau and Balti municipalities, and who reside outside the locality where they work, for the first time will be covered the commuting expenses. On the initiative of the Ministry of Health, the Cabinet approved amendments to the Law on Health Protection, IPN reports.

At the same time, the young specialists with bachelor’s degrees (optometrists, licensed general nurses, radiology technicians, etc.) were included in the list of beneficiaries of allowances and compensations granted from the state budget. They, together with residency program graduates, will benefit from an increased allowance in the first five years of work.

The bill aims to attract and keep young specialists in the medical system, especially in rural areas and small towns, where there is a significant shortage of human resources.
