Eight political parties did not comply with the legal provisions and did not submit the report on financial management for the first half of 2024 through the “Financial Control” Information System. The Central Election Commission (CEC) took note of this situation and issued warnings to a number of political parties, IPN reports.
Out of a total of 58 checked parties, 49 submitted financial reports on time, in accordance with the legal requirements, and one party submitted the documents on paper. The eight parties that did not comply with the legal obligations face penalties.
At the same time, the CEC warned 32 parties and obliged them to submit the bank statements for the first semester of 2024 by February 21, 05:00 p.m.. In addition, nine other parties were obliged to submit the corrected reports with the missing information.
Under the legislation, political parties are obliged to ensure the transparency of their finances through periodic reports to the CEC. These documents reflect the sources of funding, donations and expenses of political parties. Non-compliance leads to penalties or restricted access to the budget allocations offered to parties, the authorities warn.
