Citizens of the Republic of Moldova residing in the United Arab Emirates will be able to convert their driving licenses without taking additional exams. A Memorandum of Understanding on the mutual recognition of licenses was signed by the Minister of Internal Affairs, Daniella Misail-Nichitin and the Deputy Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates, Minister of Internal Affairs, Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, reports IPN.

The document was signed during the World Summit of Governors, held from February 3-5, in Dubai. The agreement allows for the conversion of driving licenses in a shorter period, with simplified procedures and without additional administrative formalities.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs (MAI) specifies that this measure will facilitate the mobility and integration of Moldovan citizens who work or reside in the United Arab Emirates, significantly reducing bureaucracy. Furthermore, the agreement contributes to the official recognition of documents issued by the competent authorities of the two states.

The Republic of Moldova currently has 11 similar agreements regarding the recognition of driving licenses.
