Diplomat Sergiu Russu has been appointed as the Consul General of the Republic of Moldova in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. The appointment was approved on Wednesday by the Government, at the proposal of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, reports IPN.
Sergiu Russu has over 20 years of experience within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Throughout his career, he has worked both in the central apparatus of the ministry and in the diplomatic missions of the Republic of Moldova abroad.
Additionally, Sergiu Russu held the positions of consul within the Embassy of the Republic of Moldova in Berlin, in the General Consulates of the Republic of Moldova in Milan and Frankfurt am Main. Within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the diplomat also held leadership positions, including head of the Legal and Consular Relations Section and head of the Consular Services Directorate.
From 2022 to the present, Sergiu Russu has been active within the Embassy of the Republic of Moldova in the Federal Republic of Germany, in Berlin.
