One of the four judges who are featured in a criminal case started over passive corruption and influence peddling was placed under house arrest for a 30-day period. This is the judge of the Chisinau Court. The judge of the Chisinau Appeals Court was placed under judicial control for a 60-day period, IPN reports.
In the case of the judge of the Chisinau Appeals Court, the prosecutor asked for house arrest, but the court ordered judicial control.
Contacted by IPN for details about the other two judges, the Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office said that it will give more details later.
Earlier this week, the Superior Council of Magistracy accepted acting prosecutor general Ion Munteanu’s requests to allow investigating, arresting and searching four judges of the Chisinau Court and the Chisinau Appeals Court. Two of the judges were detained the day searches were conducted.
