An ambulance that was transporting persons injured in a road accident to the hospital was hit by a car and, as a result of the impact, one of the patients, a 64-year-old man, died.
Contacted by IPN for details, Mariana Betivu, press officer of the General Police Inspectorate, said that on Wednesday morning, the police in Soldanesti were notified of a road accident near Cotiujenii Mari village of Soldanesti district. Preliminarily, it was established that a driver aged 35 lost control of the steering wheel and hit the car driven by the 64-year-old man, a resident of Recești village. There was another 65-year-old woman in the car. All the three were taken by an ambulance.
On the way to the Soldanesti District Hospital, the ambulance was struck by a car driven by a 24-year-old man, who presumably didn’t give way to the ambulance. The second accident was fatal for the 64-year-old man.
None of the drivers involved in the two accidents were drunk.
