The driver’s licenses of Moldova are recognized in Bulgaria and can be changed without needing to take an additional exam. The decision was taken following discussions with the Bulgarian authorities, IPN reports, quoting the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration.
This is possible due to the fact that both of the states are parties to the Convention on Road Traffic. The Moldovan authorities continue making sustained efforts to facilitate the replacement of Moldovan driver’s licenses in the countries of residence of Moldovans from the diaspora.
The past year, the Bulgarian side has replaced 226 driver’s licenses issued by the Moldovan authorities, while 15 Bulgarian driver’s licenses were changed into Moldovan licenses.
On February 5, the Republic of Moldova and Bulgaria celebrated the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations.
