The ExecutiveBoard of the National Bank of Moldova chose the systemically important banks of the Republic of Moldova, according to the situation on December 31, 2023. These are BC “MAIB” SA, BC “Moldindconbank” SA, OTP Bank SA and BC “VICTORIABANK” SA, IPN reports.
It also set the buffer rates for the systemically important institutions (O-SII) for banks identified as O-SIIs in the Republic of Moldova, as follows:
1.5% for BC “MAIB” SA
1.0% for BC “Moldindconbank” SA
1.0% for OTP Bank SA
1.0% for BC “VICTORIABANK” SA.
“The decision was taken based on analyses and studies conducted by the NBM, which aim to identify banks that are systemically important institutions in the Republic of Moldova and to limit the systemic impact. The frequency of revision of the O-SII buffer rates is at least annual,” said the National Bank.
The NBM Executive Board’s decision regarding the systemically important institutions in the Republic of Moldova and the O-SII buffer rates takes effect when it is published in the Official Gazette.
