The Romanian Ministry of the Interior has delegated 87 employees to help the Moldovan authorities with ensuring that the summit of the European Political Community on June 1 takes place smoothly.
The Romanian specialists are part of the Department for Emergencies, the General Aviation Inspectorate and the General Inspectorate for Emergencies. Their services include provision of medical aid, chemical, biological, radioactive and nuclear protection, emergency medical evacuation, decontamination modules, but also four advanced medical points. Two SMURD helicopters will also arrive in Moldova for air medical services if needed.
Romania’s support is in line with a cooperation agreement on the management of Moldovan-Romanian emergency situations in effect since 2014.
