Government allocates 500 tonnes of diesel fuel to CFM from state reserve

The Government decided to allocate 500 tonnes of diesel from the state reserve for the state-owned enterprise “Moldova’ Railways”. According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, this will help to maintain the enterprise and to further transport goods and passengers, IPN reports.

“Through this project, we aim to ensure railway transport services at affordable prices for the population, to provide an alternative for economic operators to use these transport services and to revive the enterprise, implicitly the possibility of achieving and accumulating income, which will enable to pay employees’ salaries,” said Minister of Internal Affairs Daniella Misail-Nikitin.

Subsidiarily, it is proposed to allocate from the Government’s reserve fund an amount of over 12.4 million lei, which constitutes the cost of the diesel fuel released to replenish the state reserve, to the Material Reserves Agency.

The annual deficit for the maintenance and renewal of “Moldova’s Railways” is over half a billion lei. Recently, the Government undertook to cover almost a third of this deficit during five years. More precisely, for the operation of the network, it plans to allocate by 166 million lei annualy over the next five years.
