The National Integrity Authority has refused to initiate a check on the wealth and personal interests in the case of the former administrator of Moldatsa, Dumitru Vangheli. The decision was made following the examination of a complaint filed in July. According to the ANI, there are no reasonable grounds for carrying out the check, reports IPN.
According to ANI, Dumitru Vangheli became the subject of wealth and personal interest declaration in August 2024, when he was appointed interim administrator of Moldatsa. For verification, the integrity inspector analyzed data from the real estate and transportation registers, as well as information from the databases of the Fiscal Service and the e-Integritate system.
According to the minutes, the movable goods and debts indicated in the notice were acquired before Dumitru Vangheli became the subject of the declaration. During the checked period, several cars were alienated, but these had been procured beforehand. Also, the official and his family members did not acquire or alienate real estate during this period.
Following the checks, ANI did not identify any indications of violating the regime of declaring assets and personal interests during the period when Vangheli held the position. Under these circumstances, the institution decided to refuse the initiation of control.
Dumitru Vangheli was dismissed from his position as director of Moldatsa after reports surfaced in the media alleging that he had included false information about his professional qualifications in the resume he submitted for the 2025 competition. On June 30, the National Anti-Corruption Center (CNA) conducted searches at Moldatsa as part of an investigation into alleged abuse of office. According to IPN sources, Vangheli reportedly left the country on June 28. He has not yet issued a public statement and has not responded to calls or messages.
