The circulation of trucks has been temporarily restricted on the Balaban-Giurgiulesti and Cahul-Giurgiulesti road sections, due to unfavorable weather conditions. Also, trucks can no longer pass through the Cahul-Oancea and Giurgiulesti-Galati border crossing points, in the direction of entering the Republic of Moldova, reports IPN.
The Border Police specifies that the measure was taken to prevent traffic jams and the emergence of risky situations in the context of complicated weather conditions.
Traffic restrictions for trucks, heavy vehicles and buses are also in place on certain routes in Ukraine. Thus, travel to and from Moldovan-Ukrainian border crossing points is temporarily suspended for these vehicle categories.
For Wednesday, meteorologists have issued an orange code in the south of the country, with heavy precipitation in the form of snow and sleet and accumulations between 20 and 35 liters per square meter. The center of the country is under a yellow code, with snowfalls of 7-19 liters per square meter. The wind will reach gusts of up to 18 meters per second, and snowdrifts and ice will form on the roads.
