The “European Moldova” Assembly scheduled for May 21 will take place in the Great National Assembly Square in central Chisinau starting at 11am. Similar rallies organized by the Moldovan diasporawill be staged in another 33 European towns. The General Police Inspectorate and the state institutions will prevent any attempt to use violence and will maintain public order and security, the Government’s press secretary Artur Mija told a news conference.
He noted that the central square of Chisinau was reserved for the Assembly, as the Commission for Exceptional Situations decided. The event that is considered apolitical will bring together people who support the Republic of Moldova’s European path.
The event will last for several hours and will consist of two parts – speeches addressed to the citizens and an artistic program. The schedule will become available on moldovaeuropeana.md several days before the Assembly.
There was launched a map of parking places that can be seen on moldovaeuropeana.md. The number of public transport units in Chisinau and the suburban settlements will be increased. Toilet facilities will be set up and drinking water will be distributed at request.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs will ensure the fluidization of traffic so that the citizens who want to get to the Assembly could do it freely and unrestrictedly.
Answering reporters’ questions, Artur Mija said the posters that promote the events are placed by the Government that conducts a relevant campaign. After the event, the costs associated with the organization of the event will be calculated and made public.
