Three persons are suspected of trading in GPS systems stolen from a number of EU member states in Moldova. In one of the cases, the caused damage was assessed at over 2 million lei, IPN reports.
The GPS and other types of systems were stolen from the Czech Republic, France and other European states. The suspects are two men and a woman aged between 30 and 50. They formed part of a criminal group that dealt with the stealing of navigation systems and farming equipment, the Customs Service noted in a press release.
As a result of searches carried out in Chisinau and Căușeni, the police found devices for opening car and tractor doors for stealing GPS systems, illegally held cartridges and information systems.
The law enforcement agencies in Moldova communicated with their counterparts in EU member states in the investigation of the given offenses.
