More than 150 people participated in the fourth edition of the Velo Road Chisinau marathon.
The event brought together children, young people, seniors and whole families who rode the route set by the Chisinau Municipal Youth Center by bicycle, scooter or electric bicycle. The cyclists were accompanied by police crews, including on bicycles, to ensure the safety of the marathon participants.
Chisinau Mayor Ion Ceban participated in the collective ride on a scooter, alongside district heads and other municipality representatives. The mayor declared that in the last year and a half he frequently uses alternative transport, the electric scooter or bicycle, to commute to work and in the evening back home, encouraging other Chisinau residents to do the same.
At the end of the evebnt, all cyclists received certificates of participation from the organizers.
A new edition of the marathon, with a new route, is to be held in August.
