The number of road accidents has decreased in the last five years. Whereas in 2019, the National Bureau of Statistics registered 2585 road accidents, in 2023 there were only 1982.
There is also a slight decrease in the number of fatal accidents. In the second quarter of this year there were 44 road accidents resulting in death, compared to 48 accidents in the same period of 2022.
Two years ago, 2,591 people suffered injuries as a result of road accidents. Last year the number was 2,290, and in the first half of the this year 1,107 people were injured in accidents.
