Travel alert in Portugal due to the high risk of vegetation fires, caused by severe weather conditions. The alert status is valid until August 7th. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Moldova informs citizens who are, transit or intend to travel to Portugal that local authorities have introduced special prevention and protection measures during this period, reports IPN.
Thus, the access, circulation, and parking of vehicles in forested areas are prohibited. Likewise, during the mentioned period, the use of open fire, fireworks, and other pyrotechnic devices is forbidden. Similarly, the use of equipment and machinery that can generate sparks or accidental ignitions is restricted.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs recommends Moldovan citizens to avoid areas with a high risk of fires and to strictly follow the indications and instructions of the local authorities.
