The Republic of Moldova will receive additional funding in the form of a $63 million grant from the United States. The Moldovan Government today formally approved two amendments to the Assistance Agreement for Strengthening Participatory Democracy and the Assistance Agreement on the Development Objective for Sustainable Economic Growth Anchored in European Integration, whose implementation deadline is 31 December 2025.
The amendment to the Assistance Agreement for Strengthening Participatory Democracy provides for additional funding of $16.7 million. This increases the total value of the Agreement to $113 million. The funds will be used to increase citizen involvement, strengthen the responsiveness of public institutions and reduce the vulnerability of democratic institutions and processes.
The value of the Assistance Agreement on the Development Objective for Sustainable Economic Growth Anchored in European Integration will be supplemented by $46.3 million, taking its total value to $153.2 million in grant assistance. The funds will be used to increase access to the European Union market and other international markets and increase competitiveness in transforming sectors.
