At least 26 people suffered from food poisoning after attending events organized between June 22-26, in a hotel unit in the city of Chisinau. The National Agency for Public Health specifies that, following laboratory investigations, Salmonella Enteritidis infection was confirmed in seven patients, while the other biological samples are still being examined, reports IPN.
According to ANSP, patients are treated in hospitals or outpatient, under the supervision of family doctors, and their contacts are medically monitored. In parallel, the authorities identify and other possible cases, as the epidemiological investigation is ongoing.
At the same time, samples were taken from the individuals involved in the preparation and handling of food, as well as food product samples and sanitation tests, in order to identify the source of contamination.
The epidemiological investigation and the anti-epidemic measures undertaken are ongoing.
