Victoria Belous, a deputy of the Action and Solidarity Party, has been appointed chairwoman of the Parliamentary Committee for Economy, Budget and Finance. The resolution project was approved by Parliament, following the resignation of Radu Marian from his position, in the context of the scandal at the state enterprise Moldatsa, reports IPN.

Until now, Victoria Belous has held the position of vice president of the committee. She also served as finance minister in the government led by Dorin Recean.

Radu Marian will remain a member of the committee. The deputy justified his resignation by taking responsibility for recommending Dumitru Vangheli for the position of head of Moldatsa, specifying that he was not aware of the irregularities within the company. He said he stepped down from the committee leadership to protect the team’s image and that of the Parliament, and to avoid affecting the European integration agenda.
