The people are warned about fake videos circulated online, which, in some cases, use also the visual identity of the Government or other public institutions. According to the Government’s spokesman Daniel Voda, these videos are part of a disinformation campaign targeting the Republic of Moldova and the country’s people, IPN reports.
“In the digital space, we have become accustomed to recognizing fake videos that are intentionally created in order to manipulate or misinform public opinion. On pirate movie sites that I talked about earlier, another sponsored video appeared, again in Romanian, and this also promotes narratives and invented facts and talks about social phenomena in the country,” stated Daniel Vodă.
According to him, the authorities disseminate information of public interest only on official platforms. When a spot is created or a campaign or another activity aimed at informing the public is carried out, these are promoted each time transparently and on official platforms.
“I’m not tired of every time repeating: when you see false information, do not hesitate to protect your family and inform your loved ones in family groups, in neighborhood groups, on other platforms about the fact that particular information discussed in the public space is false or, when you see manipulative content being shared, report this to the respective social networking site” urged the Government’s spokesman.
