A 27-year-old man was sentenced to 15 years in jail for raping the minor sister of his wife. Also, in 2020-2022 he committed perverse sections against the victim, IPN reports.
According to the Prosecutor General’s Office, the man raped the 13-year-old girl last April, while in was at his home in northern Moldova. He was under the influence of alcohol and used physical and mental constraints against her.
The man, who is held on remand, pleaded not guilty.
The sentence was passed by the Glodeni Branch of the Drochia Court. It is not final and can be challenged at the Balti Appeals Court within 15 years.
