A female police officer, 22, lost control of her Toyota and rammed it into three pedestrians in the Chisinau suburb of Singera early Tuesday morning. One 30-year-old woman was killed, and two girls, 6 and 17, were injured as a result. The police said the National Public Security Inspectorate officer had been off duty when the accident happened. A breathalyzer test showed she had been drinking. In fact, her result of 0.51 mg/l indicates that she was in an “advanced state of intoxication”. A criminal case has been initiated. The suspect was arrested for 72 hours and suspended from duty.
