Customs debts and penalties related to the import of cars for people with locomotor disabilities will be canceled. The provisions to this effect are contained in a draft law passed by Parliament at first reading, IPN reports.
According to the draft, it cancels the unpaid late surcharges (penalties) related to the release for free circulation (import) of cars intended for people with locomotor disabilities from January 1, 2023 to March 27, 2024. The provision also exempts, for the same period, the contravention or criminal liability for offenses related to the release for free circulation (import) of this type of machines.
The legislative initiative belongs to a group of MEPs from the Action and Solidarity Party. According to the authors, this legislative measure aims to support people with locomotor disabilities, as the legal framework does not currently contain a mechanism for remedying and forgiving these debts, where no fraudulent intent has been established.
The document contains amendments to the Law on the size, manner and terms of payment of compulsory health insurance premiums. Thus, individuals who have paid the health insurance premium in a lump sum and have subsequently been employed will be able to apply for a refund of the paid premium. The aim is to avoid double taxation and respect the principle of tax fairness.
