The Crimean Bridge exploded in an operation organized by Ukraine, according to IPN.
The Security Service of Ukraine declared that SBU agents have placed explosives in the pillars of the Crimean bridge in the Kerch Strait and that in the early hours of Tuesday, the first explosive device was activated. The announcement was made by intelligence services in Kiev. “The underwater supports of the pillars have been severely damaged at the lower level, 1100 kg of explosives equivalent to TNT were used for this purpose. The bridge is in a state of emergency”.
SBU mentioned that the operation was prepared “for a few months” and was coordinated by chief Vasilyy Maliuk, according to whom “the Crimean bridge is a completely legitimate target, considering that the enemy has used it as a logistical artery to support their troops. Crimea is Ukraine, and any manifestation of occupation will receive a strong response”.
The Security Service of Ukraine has struck the Crimean Bridge two more times, in 2022 and 2023.
