The persons who do not agree with the results of the driving test, theoretical or practical test, can submit applications to challenge the results online, on the website of the Public Services Agency (PSA). At the same time, the deadline by which appeals can be filed is extended from three to 30 days, IPN reports.
PSA deputy director Iurie Cristea in an event said that the deadline is extended to give the person time to download the images, analyze them, even together with a professional, and decide whether to challenge or not. Another novelty is that the appeals committees will include representatives of driving schools and academia. Also, a commission within the institution will evaluate the exams both randomly and thematically not only on the basis of appeals, but also when there are particular suspicions.
The Agency’s director Mircea Eșanu said that 290 appeals were filed last year. About 70 appeals were withdrawn. Nine applications were accepted and the persons had the result changed from “denied” to “admitted”. Others were accepted for review. “We hope that these figures will increase as the people will have courage to contest,” noted the director.
Mircea Eșanu also announced the opening of two new points for testing candidates for the practical test in category “B” in Chisinau. Appointments there can be made from today.
During the event, new vehicles for practical testing were presented. Jacob Zavtur, head of the Vehicle Registration and Drivers Qualification Division, said that six motorcycles are intended for category A, 12 cars – for category B – nine with mechanical gearbox and three with automatic transmission, two trucks and a trailer – for subcategory C1, C1E, and two minibuses and a trailer for category D1 and D1E. “All the units of transport are equipped with four audio and video surveillance cameras each. The PSA, based on risk criteria, can conduct a check, an analysis of the exams and correctly examine the submitted appeals,” stated Iacov Zavtur.
