A man aged over 40 from Lipcani town of Briceni district will stand trial for downloading over 13,500 photos and videos of child pornography. It happened in 2022-2023, when he had been working as a security guard, IPN reports.
Although the man tried to deny his responsibility, the police also established that during the hours when the files were downloaded, the defendant’s wife was attending professional development courses in another location. Following investigations, the specialized prosecutor’s office indicted the man and sent the case of child pornography to court.
The crime carries a penalty of one to three years in prison.
In 2023, 15 people were convicted of child pornography.
