A 41-year-old man from Chisinau was sentenced to 10 years in prison for domestic violence, which caused the death of the victim. According to the Prosecutor General’s Office, the victim was the man’s concubine and she was beaten to death, IPN reports.
It happened at the end of August 2023 in Buiucani district of Chisinau. Following a spontaneous conflict with his concubine, the man punched and kicked the woman for several times. Forensic examinations showed that the woman had suffered serious bodily injury leading to death.
Witnesses said the couple frequently quarreled, but the man and the woman came to terms and continued to live together. According to prosecutors, the defendant fully admitted his guilt.
The Buiucani Court of Chisinau sentenced the 41-year-old man to 10 years in a closed prison.
The sentence is not final and can be appealed to the Chisinau Court of Appeal.
