The Party of Action and Solidarity won 63 seats of MP according to the preliminary election outcome. The Electoral Bloc of the Communists and the Socialists gained 32 seats, while the Shor Party – 6 seats. The seats of MP are distributed according to the D’Hondt method that favors the election contenders with the largest number of votes on account of the parties that didn’t pass the election threshold, IPN reports, quoting alegeri.md.
With over 99% of the election reports being processed, PAS is shown to have won 52.69% of the vote, BeCS – 27.26%, while the Shor Party – 5.75%. Five election reports are yet expected to come from polling stations established abroad.
In the July 11 snap parliamentary elections, the citizens could choose from among 23 election contenders – 20 parties, two electoral blocs and an independent candidate. The turnout was 44.56% or 1,265 million voters. Over 212,000 Moldovans voted abroad.
