The state proposes the allocation of 108 million lei from the Intervention Fund to provide financial aid to farmers, intended for the partial compensation of diesel excise duties. The project of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry has been published for public consultations, reports IPN.

The proposed measure aims to support farmers and livestock breeders during the spring work period, between March 1 and May 31.

According to the project, the financial aid will fully cover the excise duty for the purchased diesel, which for 2026 is about 4 thousand lei per ton. The support ceiling granted to a single beneficiary under this measure will be 200 thousand lei.

Applicants must be officially registered by March 1 and own agricultural land or livestock farms, and the animals and plantations must be registered in accordance with current legislation. Applications will be submitted through the Agency for Intervention and Payments for Agriculture, accompanied by supporting documents, including diesel bills and confirmation certificates issued by local authorities.
