Work to prepare the municipal housing stock for the upcoming heating season is almost completed. Hydro-pneumatic washing, hydraulic inspection, chemical analysis and other maintenance and preventive operations were carried out.
“As every year, the municipal services that report to the Directorate of Housing and Amenities are doing work to prepare the housing stock for the cold season”, the Directorate’s head Ion Burdiumov told the Chisinau City Hall’s meeting on Monday.
As of August 25, piping prophylaxis was 96.8% complete, covering 1,459 out of 1,487 apartment blocks. Progress levels for other operations ranged from 81% to 87.66%.
Burdiumov said that this year the Chisinau City Hall has continued the housing stock repair program. Piping and wiring were extensively replaced in 32 apartment blocks, roofing was fully repair on 27 blocks, and staircase windows were replaced in 28 blocks.
Also, the Directorate distributed about 20 thousand square meters of bitumen membranes to housing associations for current roofing repairs.
