Next week, passenger carriers from the northern districts of the country will protest in front of the National Auto Transport Agency. According to the Employers’ Association of Auto Transport Operators, the cause of the demonstration is the protection of illegal businesses in the transport sector, with the aim of supporting takeover route attacks, reports IPN.
APOTA specifies that the protest will take place on Thursday, February 12, at 11:00 AM. According to the notification sent to the Chisinau City Hall, the gathering will take place within the perimeter of the Train Station Square, in both directions of traffic and in the nearby parking areas.
The organizers estimate the participation of about 40 people, of which almost 30 will be minibus and bus drivers. The parking process is planned to start at 10:00 AM, and the event is expected to conclude around 12:30 PM.
At the end of January, APOTA warned that it would organize protests if the authorities did not intervene to stop what it considers to be illegal practices in passenger transport.
