A 30-year-old man was sentenced to eight years in jail for sexually abusing a girl aged eight last summer, IPN reports
According to the Prosecutor General’s Office, the trial was held according to a simplified procedure, based on the evidence collected during the investigation, given that the man admitted his guilt. In such conditions, the man befitted from a one-third reduction of the strictest penalty stipulated by law for such cases. He will remain in custody until the judgment becomes final.
The prosecution considers the sentence is too mild and intends to challenge it within 15 days. It asks for 12 years in jail for the man. The argued sentence is to be passed on April 15.
