The Secretary General of the Council of Europe, Alain Berset, begins his visit to Chisinau today. This is his first official visit to the Republic of Moldova, IPN reports.
For two days, February 12-13, the European official will take part in several events, hold meetings with President Maia Sandu, Prime Minister Dorin Recean and Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu, as well as with representatives of civil society and the judiciary.
Discussions will reportedly focus on key priorities, including human rights, democracy and the rule of law.
In the context of the visit, the Council of Europe Action Plan for the Republic of Moldova (2025-2028) is to be launched today.
