Fire in the attic of a block of flats in Durlesti: firefighters intervene in increased firefighting mode

A fire broke out this afternoon in the attic of an apartment block in Durlesti. The flames engulfed the 10th floor of the building at 75 Tudor Vladimirescu Street, and firefighters intervened at high speed, mobilizing several rescue teams, IPN reports.

The emergency call was received at 15:57, and a emergency response team was set up to manage the intervention. According to IGSU, at the moment, 70 firefighters and 13 fire engines are involved in the firefighting. Three fighting sectors have been formed to locate and extinguish the fire.

Contacted by IPN, Liliana Puscasu, head of the IGSU’s Public Relations Department, said that the residents of the first floors have been evacuated, some of them managing to get out of the building on their own. Emergency crews are checking the upper floors to make sure no one is still inside.

At the scene, rescuers are working to locate and extinguish the fire, and so far no casualties have been reported. The cause of the outbreak of the fire is to be established after the intervention and investigations have been completed.
