The police seized a batch of marijuana worth approximately 250,000 lei in Comrat. Two men were detained on charges of intending to distribute drugs in the southern region of the country, IPN reports.
Under the coordination of prosecutors of the PCCOCS South Office, the authorities carried out searches at the homes and in the cars of the two, where they discovered about 600 grams of marijuana, electronic scales for weighing drugs, mobile phones and phone cards intended for communication with potential customers, as well as amounts of money in different currencies, obtained from the sale of drugs.
The 33-year-old man was caught red-handed and was placed in preventive detention for 30 days. The other man, aged 30, is cooperating with the investigation body and was placed under house arrest.
The authorities continue to investigate the drug distribution network and the possible involvement of accomplices. The case is under investigation and the persons involved benefit from the presumption of innocence, IPN reports.
