Moldova and Italy have signed a memorandum of understanding providing for economic, social and technological cooperation in the agricultural sector and rural development. The harmonization of agricultural legislation and policies with those of the European Union is one of the elements of the document, IPN reports.
The document includes the exchange of knowledge and experience in various fields of agriculture, including product diversification, digitalization and innovation, animal welfare, environmental sustainability and risk management. It also aims to develop joint agricultural research programs, exchange of experience in the creation and running of agricultural cooperatives, as well as to develop joint programs of higher education in the agricultural sector.
“The cooperation between our countries will also include the improvement of agricultural infrastructure and services by organizing fact-finding visits, training programs for officials and participation in seminars, workshops and conferences,” said the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry of Moldova.
The document was signed in Rome and will be valid for a period of ten years.
