The Ministry of Internal Affairs will mobilize daily, between February 4-8, between 2,300 and 2,400 employees from its structures – including patrol police, rescuers, and firefighters – and approximately 650 transport units, to intervene where the forecasted weather conditions will create risks, reports IPN.
The coordination of actions took place during a meeting convened by the National Crisis Management Center on February 3.
The General Inspectorate of Police and the General Inspectorate of Carabinieri will patrol the roads to provide support for traffic participants. The road workers have prepared over 12,000 tons of anti-skid material and mobilized 460 pieces of equipment for interventions.
If the situation will require it, the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations and the National Army will intervene on the most affected or dangerous segments, supporting local authorities to maintain access to critical objectives and the protection of the population.
Additionally, 270 emergency medical teams are prepared to operate 24/7.
The transport system operator has mobilized 58 operational employees and 15 transport units, while the distribution system operators have activated up to 90 intervention teams, with approximately 240 employees, at a national level.
Meteorologists forecast, for the period of February 4-8, fluctuations in temperatures, alternating between positive and negative values, with an increased risk of precipitation and ice formation.
