Sandu and Zelensky seek solutions for the transnistrian crisis

The President of the Republic of Moldova, Maia Sandu, discussed with her Ukrainian counterpart, Volodymyr Zelensky, the humanitarian crisis in the Transnistrian region caused by Gazprom’s decision to cut off gas supplies, IPN reports. 

President Maia Sandu held talks with President Volodymyr Zelensky regarding the humanitarian crisis in the Transnistrian region, triggered by Gazprom’s decision to halt natural gas deliveries.

The two leaders agreed to collaborate in identifying solutions to prevent further suffering of the population and to protect people from the use of energy resources as a political weapon by Russia.

“We discussed with President Zelensky the humanitarian crisis in the Transnistrian region caused by Gazprom’s decision. We agreed to work together to find solutions to prevent additional suffering and to protect people from the political weapon of energy,” Maia Sandu stated on social media.
