Right-hand drive cars could travel on the public roads of the country in the evening as well. An amendment to this effect was adopted by Parliament, in cooperation with the Ministry of Internal Affairs, said MP Radu Marian.
Thus, Moldova borrowed the practice of other European countries that allow such vehicles to travel, provided that the owner makes technical changes to guarantee the safety of other road users. It goes to the asymmetrical adaptation of headlights or the use of special stickers that are applied directly on the car’s headlights, IPN reports.
“By establishing the national regulatory framework in accordance with the European regulatory framework, we will ensure the right of citizens to move freely and to come home more often to see the beloved ones,” wrote Radu Marian. The Ministry of Internal Affairs has one month to adopt the regulations and technical requirements.
