The Speaker of Parliament Igor Grosu said the Republic of Moldova always felt the support of Romania, which helped it to easier overcome the crises and to start to build a better future. “Romania was and remains our firm advocate at economic, political, diplomatic, cultural, educational levels,” the official stated at the beginning of the legislature’s Thursday sitting, IPN reports.
“Dear Romanians and friends of Romania, sincere congratulations on the occasion of the National Day of Romania that we will celebrate tomorrow, December 1. I transmit our gratitude to all the Romanians for their receptiveness and for the promptness with which they respond to the needs of the Republic of Moldova and our citizens,” noted Igor Grosu.
The Republic of Moldova and Romania together build bridges, kindergartens, museums, houses of culture, gas pipelines, abolish the roaming charges and get rid of the energy dependence on Russia. Igor Grosu also said that Romania’s support is felt by the Moldovan citizens in all the regions.
“The voice of Romania is important within the European Union, while the Romanian MEPs are our advocates in Brussels. I express my gratitude to the Romanian deputies and senators for their vote two days ago, by which they reiterated the full support for the advancement of the European integration of the Republic of Moldova and by which they support the adoption of a positive decision by the European Council on the opening of accession negations with the EU. The European integration is a major objective of the Republic of Moldova, which we can achieve with the support of our friends from Bucharest,” stated Speaker Grosu.
Romania’s National Day or the Great Union Day is celebrated on December 1.
