Firefighters and rescuers intervened in 15 emergency situations due to torrential rains that fell on Saturday in the Drochia, Soroca, Ialoveni, Telenești and Straseni districts. Most requests were in the village of Gribova in the Drochia district, where water flooded households, homes and cellars, reports IPN.

According to the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations, actions were also carried out to unblock sections of flooded road.

Interventions were necessary in the localities of Puhoi and Țipala from the Ialoveni district, where water infiltrated into homes and basements. At the same time, rescuers intervened to unblock sections of road and vehicles that were stuck due to water accumulation.

Following the rainfall, the access road to the village of Puhoi, in the Ialoveni district, was temporarily blocked. Also, the movement of transport on the Greblesti-Recea route and on the local Chirianca-Voinova road, in the Straseni district, was temporarily halted. Meanwhile, on the R-1 route, at the entrance to the Straseni district, water accumulations formed, which hindered vehicle traffic.

The authorities are monitoring the situation on the ground, and drivers are urged to exercise caution and follow the instructions of the police.

The General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations mentions that firefighters and rescuers remain in the territory to intervene as needed to provide the necessary assistance to the population and to eliminate the consequences of weather phenomena.
