A “Tour of Romanian Actors” in Moldova starts in Chisinau on Friday, at 7pm, with the play “Figuranta” that is presented by actors of the “I.L. Caragiale” National Theater of Bucharest at the Nameless Theater, IPN reports.
Renowned Romanian actress Tania Popa, who was born in Căușeni, Moldova, invites the public to an exceptional one-woman-show. The play “Figuranta” tells the tragic-comic story of Ania, an aspiring actress whose life is divided between her stage career and the nonfulfillment of her personal life. “I come to Chisinau on April 28 to delight everyone and to rejoice myself. I think this is a very good combination,” stated Tania Popa.
Romanian critics appreciate the show as an emotional interpretation of a sensitive psychological theme, with explosive variations between pain, emotion, self-irony and comedy. Spectators will witness an hour of meditation and monologue on a troubled life of a young mother who has reached the abyss of disappointment and her struggle with life and poverty to fulfill her dreams and keep her hope for a better future.
The “Tour of Romanian Actors” is a large-scale cultural project that includes eight productions in theaters in Chisinau, Cahul and Bălți. Its goal is to bring the public from Moldova as close as possible to Romanian culture and language. It is financed by the Department for Relations with the Republic of Moldova and organized in partnership with the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Moldova. Entrance to all the plays is free of charge.
